Communication

Good communication is essential in the education of your children.  Parents (and caregivers) and teachers are encouraged to communicate as often as they feel necessary by phone, letter, or a meeting.  Always communicate by contacting the teacher first.  If further questions arise, then it is appropriate to contact the administration of the school. 

A meaningful meeting with your child's teacher should be scheduled before or after school.  Please call your child's teacher at school (445-3661) to arrange for a suitable time.

Report cards are issued 3 times per year. Student-led Conferences are held in November and March. The main purposes of Student-Led Conferences are to celebrate a child's learning, show growth over time, and provide parents with a better understanding of their child's learning process.    Interim report cards and additional interviews will be scheduled if necessary.

A newsletter and monthly calendar reviews activities that have occurred and previews coming events. It is important to read the newsletter and put the calendar in a prominent location for quick reference.  This newsletter is sent home with each student and is also posted on the school Facebook page.  Any notes coming home will be on different coloured paper so be sure to watch for these in your child's backpack. For all the latest news, follow us on Facebook.

Parents can reach the office during the day by calling the main number (306) 445-3661. Our top priority is student learning and we will do our best to get messages to your child during the school day, however we may ask for students to return calls to parents during recess breaks. In the case of an emergency, please alert the office and we will make sure to put the call right through to the classroom teacher.

Edsby messenger will be the main communication method starting September 2025.
